Candle Care

The first burn is the most important!

When you light your SOLARA CANDLE CO candle for the first time, allow it to burn for at least 2 hours or until the wax is melted all the way to the edges of the vessel. This will imprint an even burn in the candle memory and prevent it from burning uneven.

Other important Candle care tips are as follows:

  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
  • Do not move your candle when lit. Container may be hot to touch.
  • Stop burning your candle when 1cm of wax remains at the bottom of the glass.
  • Keeping your wick trimmed after every burn will avoid excessive flickering, large flames and black soot on your jar. Keeping it trimmed to 5mm will allow your candle to burn for longer and allow for a cleaner stronger fragrance.
  • Keep the burn pool clean of any debris or dust. Keep the wick centred to encourage an even burn pool.
  • Do not leave your candle burning unattended and keep away from children and pets. Always burn your candle on a stable, level and heat resistant surface in an environment free of drafts.

Please note that it is normal for soy wax to change colour and darken slightly over time. Soy wax is a natural product, as it resets after a burn it may have a dimpled and uneven surface, this is completely normal and it will not affect the performance of your candle.

Australia is a hot, humid climate. On very hot days, you candle may appear to “sweat”. Simply wipe the surface gently with a tissue. This will not affect your candle’s performance.
